Chanderkhani Pass Trek
Chanderkhani Pass Trek
DAY 1 : ARRIVAL IN MANALI
After you arrive in Manali, transfer straight to the pre-arranged lodging, and get rest. Manali is a naturally beautiful hill station, with an average elevation of around 6730 feet above sea level. Its subtropical highland climate keeps the weather cool, be it any month or season. Hadimba Devi Temple, the hot sulphur springs of Vashisht Village and Manali Sanctuary are some good places for you to visit in and around the hill station. After sightseeing return to your lodging for overnight stay.
DAY 2 : MANALI TO NAGGAR
In the morning, begin your Malana Chanderkhani pass trekking tour by driving 22 km to the village of Naggar. In the first phase of the expedition, you will hike up to the little village of Rumsu. All along this roughly 3-hour walk, you will gain altitude gradually. Your campsite in the village will be on gentle and grassy slopes, surrounded by towering morinda spruces.
DAY 3 : RUMSU TO NAUYA TAPRU
After waking up, resume your Malana Chanderkhani Pass trek, and travel through the Himalayas to Nauya Tapru – the base of the Chanderkhani Pass. Nauya Tapru is situated just below the Chanderkhani Pass, and acts as a base camp for those who ascend higher. It is a beautiful valley with a lush covering of grass. High mountains with groves of pindrow fir that are bereft of them at higher elevations surround the valley. On arriving here, reach your campsite and stay overnight.
DAY 4 : NAUYA TAPRU TO MALANA
This part of the expedition can be called Malana village trek as it transports you to the said place. Malana is a traditional Himachali village at an elevation of about 9000 feet above sea level. If you ever wanted to know how villagers of the state live, this is the perfect place for it. Located in a valley and immersed in lush greenery, this village has not had any impact of urbanisation.
DAY 5 : MALANA TO JARI
During the culminating section of Malana Chanderkhani pass trek, you will continue descending through dense grasses and woodlands. You will end your walking excursion in the village of Jari, where you will board a vehicle and travel by road to Manali
